Williams County commissioners hold first public hearing for next round of funding for the Community Development Block Grant program.

The Williams County commissioners held the first public hearing for the next round of funding for the Community Development Block Grant program. Officials from around the county attended the meeting, which was informational and included a tentative timeline. It was stressed the projects being applied for through this round of funding would be for 2025 and early 2026, as funding awards would not be announced until the fall. Individual communities do not apply, but the commissioners and the Maumee Valley Planning Organization will review submitted applications to decide which will be sent to the state. Williams County is also eligible for up to two applications in the Residential Public Infrastructure program under the Economic Development umbrella. This program provides funding for projects that will provide clean and reliable drinking water and proper sanitary waste disposal. Award is a minimum of $100,000 dollars and a maximum of $700,000.
