The Williams County commissioners Tuesday decided to proceed to a final hearing on a petition to add a ditch to the permanent county maintenance list. And, according to the Bryan Times, the petition to add ditch No. 744 to the list was made by Sidney Ebersole due to flooding issues. Opponents of the petition said an invasion of beavers in the area is contributing to the problem and needs to be removed before any other solution is tried. Williams County Drainage Engineer Brian Fritsch said county crews looked at the area, which is in around county roads 12 and R in Bridgewater Township.
