The Henry County Sheriff’s Office reports a one-vehicle crash early Saturday morning left a Freedom Township man dead.
28 year old Kyle H. Altherr was killed in the crash on Township Road T near Township Road 15B at 6:12 a.m. Saturday when he lost control on the ice-covered roadway.
According to the Sheriff’s office, Altherr’s vehicle spun around, went off the roadway and hit a tree, then caught fire.
Altherr was trapped inside and had to be extricated from the vehicle by mechanical means.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Ridgeville Fire and EMS assisted at the scene.
