Leona M. Wadsworth, 85 years, of Bryan, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Genesis HealthCare – Bryan Center, Bryan. Leona was born January 20, 1929 in Niles, Michigan, the daughter of the late Otis and Minnie (Marks) Conrad. She was a 1947 graduate of Niles High School, Niles, Michigan. Leona married Thomas J. Wadsworth on June 21, 1945 in Niles, Michigan, and he preceded her in death on July 7, 2002. Leona was an assembler for the former Electro Voice in Bering Springs, Michigan for 25 years. After moving to Bryan in 1965, Leona worked in the restaurant business in management until her retirement in 1975.
Surviving is her daughter, Maralea A. Wadsworth of Bryan and two sisters, Nina Ojan of Bryan, Loma Whitehead of Silsbe, Texas; one brother, Otis (Betty) Conrad Jr. of Niles, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Thomas and one son, Larrydale Wadsworth; three brothers, Richard Aldrich, Leon and Paul Conrad; four sisters, Catherine Conrad, LaVon Pinkston, Ilene Wood and Constance Emler.
There will be no visitation or services at this time. Interment will be made in Fountain Grove Cemetery, Bryan. Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Bryan.
