After much discussion, Williams County commissioners have committed to guarantee funds for child protective services for the rest of the year. Williams County Job and Family Services sent a letter to the commissioners requesting they sign a commitment letter in order to certify funds for contracts for possible future services related to child protection services. A couple of months ago, a fiscal officer for the agency told the commissioners the agency was looking at a $700,000 shortfall in that area, but last week said current projections have the shortfall at $250,000.
