A fire in Archbold Monday destroyed two barns and caused damage to a nearby home, according to Archbold Fire officials. The call came in Monday afternoon at a location on County Road E, and the larger barn was already fully-involved upon arrival. Officials report nobody was inside the barns – which were used for storing straw and hay. An excavator was eventually called in after the structures had collapsed and was used to pick apart the materials in order to hit all the hot spots.
