In addition to saving the city money, the Bryan Fire Department received a new fire and rescue engine on Friday afternoon. The engine will replace two existing trucks and cost roughly $1 million. The engine would be ready for fires as needed, but its primary purpose will be rescue runs. However, the city will get the insurance credit for it because it has an ISO fire engine rating. The Fire Chief added while the expense is large all at once, the truck should have a lifespan of 30-40 years, making the annual cost around $25,000.
