Lawmakers in Ohio are looking into fresh strategies to get companies to hire more veterans. State representatives introduced House Bill 529. Businesses that hire a disabled veteran full-time would be eligible to receive $750 in refundable annual tax credits, according to legislation introduced by Mark Sigrist (D-Grove City) and Jean Schmidt (R-Loveland). Non-disabled veterans, active-duty reservists, and National Guard members would receive smaller tax credits.
