Obit: Paul L. Green Sr., age 88.

Paul L. Green Sr., age 88, of Edon, Ohio passed away peacefully in his home, Saturday, March 7, 2026. He was born July 5, 1937, in York Township, Steuben County, Indiana to the late Lawrence and Faye (Ordway) Green. Paul was a proud graduate of the Metz (Mohawks) School class of 1955. He married (Frances) Darlene Fikel on August 14, 1955, and she preceded him in death on November 29, 2019, after 64 years of marriage. Paul worked for the Wabash Norfolk Southern railroad for many years. He was an avidgardener, enjoyed canning, and was inseparable from the love of his life, Darlene. He and Darlene loved the time spent at their cabin in Michigan with their family. Paul also enjoyed the antique auto club and cruise-ins to show off their 1909 Model T and 1946 Chevy Pick-up. Above all, Paul loved his family. His granddaughter, Victoria, was especially dear to him, and the two shared a special bond. Survivors include his sons, Paul (Debra) Green Jr., of Edon, Ohio, Denny (Janis) Green, of Bryan, Ohio; his grandchildren, Victoria (Henley) Dye, Jacob (Alisha) Joice, Jessica (John) Baker, Derrick Green, Jason (Sara) Green, Jeremy (Misty) Green, Jesse Green (Stephanie), Josh Green; numerous great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his sons, Craig and Jeff; his brothers, Robert and Spike; his sisters, Opal, Maxine, Helen and Lois. Paul’s celebration of life will be held May 9, 2026, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Northwest Township Community Building, State Route 49, Cooney, Ohio. Private inurnment will be held in the Columbia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and other mementos, memorial contributions may be made to: Northwest Fire & Rescue and Auxiliary.
