Walleye fishing enforcement carried out, close to South Bass Island.

Walleye fishing enforcement was carried out recently, close to South Bass Island by Ohio Department of Natural Resources State Wildlife detectives.  On the same day, they saw two Minnesotan boats carrying three fisherman each going on two different fishing excursions. Following their second fishing excursion, the groups were approached. The officers discovered that the six people had consumed 31 walleye more than their daily allotment. Each angler received a one-year fishing license revocation, a $150 fine, and court costs after entering a guilty plea to exceeding the daily limit of six walleye. Additionally, the fisherman made restitution totaling $1,550.
