Flames tore through a pole barn and destroyed it and all of its contents Wednesday afternoon.
A passerby first noticed the flames just before 2 yesterday afternoon at the barn on Ohio 49.
By that time, the fire had already begun to destroy a tractor that was parked inside.
The Bryan Times reports that firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading to the woods, a nearby propane tank, and a nearby house, all within about 50 feet of the burning barn.
Firefighters from Bryan, Farmer, Hicksville and Butler, Ind., responded.
The cause is not officially listed yet, but investigators say it appears to have started when sparks from a burn barrel ignited some dry grass, and the flames took off from there. The barn, and everything inside it, was destroyed. Damage is estimated at around $80,000. Nobody was hurt.
