In Napoleon, the fire chief is quitting, but the reasons are unclear. Robert Bennett told city officials he would resign effective November first and Council was asked at this week’s meeting to pass an agreement of separation, which it did without debate. When asked how come Bennett was placed on leave in September, the city manager said it was to investigate administrative issues. They had no further comment other than to say Bennett is resigning to pursue other opportunities.
