NWS Confirms Hillsdale Tornado

The National Weather Ser­vice has con­firmed that a tor­nado touched down in north­ern Hills­boro County last week. The tor­nado struck just after 6:20pm on April 9 with straight-line winds esti­mated at 85 miles-per-hour. Dam­age was min­i­mal, though a barn was pushed off its foun­da­tion, and two trees landed on an aban­doned home. The storm trav­eled just over two miles on the ground and was esti­mated to be about 300 yards wide.
