Williams Sending Out Delinquent Tax Notices

Williams County is stepping up efforts to collect delinquent property taxes. The Bryan Times reports today, that Williams County has set a deadline of May 29 for those with delinquent property tax bills to either pay up in full, or set up a payment plan. Those who fail to meet the deadline could have their tax lien certificates sold to a private collection company. Sales are dependent on whether that company wants the property. Notices are being sent out this week to those with delinquent property tax bills, informing them of the May 29 deadline. The last day the treasurer will accept personal checks for past due taxes is May 15. In addition, owners of the parcels of record also will be charged a $25 administrative fee. For questions, call the Williams County Treasurer’s Office at 419–636-1850.
