GYPSY MOTH SPRAYING

The Ohio Department of Agriculture is set to begin aerial treatments to control the gypsy moth population in the state.

51 acres in Defiance County is targeted as larva and leaf development now is peaking.

The department uses foray, a naturally occurring bacterium found in the soil that interferes with the caterpillar’s feeding cycle. It’s not toxic to humans, pets, birds, or fish.

You can view maps of targeted areas at agri.ohio.gov.
