A report shows Williams County ranks sixth in the state for counties where it makes the most sense to own a home versus renting. The HUD study found families earning $100,000 annually with a typical mortgage, yielded an average monthly payment of $549 with an average home price of $127,914. Comparatively, it found a three bedroom house rental to average a $903 monthly rental cost.
