Abuse Case In SC

In Steuben County…a man and his girlfriend are arrested…in connection to the accused abuse of a three-year-old…now hospitalized in critical condition. Kendallville investigators work with county deputies in the case. Officials say the child had been taken to a hospital in Angola for injuries…inconsistent with the information being provided by the father, Derek Pierce of Kendallville, and his girlfriend, Dakota McHenry of Fort Wayne. Then…the investigation. Officials say they were able to find out the child was hurt at the HI-VUE campground, near Lake Gage. McHenry and Pierce, 31 are soon booked for causing serious bodily injury and obstruction of justice. Both are held without bond…at this hour. The case continues.
