Accident in DeKalb County, after driver falls asleep at the wheel.

A Butler man tells the police he fell asleep at the wheel, hitting a pole. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department says Robert Yoder, 66, of Butler suffered a broken leg after crashing his truck into a pole in rural Waterloo. Officials tell reporters Yoder was eastbound on U.S. Hwy. 6 when he fell asleep and crashed into a ditch before smashing into the utility pole. Yoder was trapped inside his vehicle and had to be extracted by first responders and taken to the hospital. The DeKalb Co. Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Butler Police, Butler Fire, the Waterloo Fire Department and the Dekalb County Central Communication team.
