Again?

AquaBounty Technologies files a second Water Withdrawal and Consumptive Use Permit Application for what it calls the East Well Field. Officials say…if approved, it would nullify the previous application. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Water Resources is currently reviewing the application for completeness…filed on May 12 for 5.25 million gallons a day of groundwater from the Lake Erie watershed. In October, AquaBounty filed a water withdrawal application in a well field south of Pioneer. That permit was approved on March 14. It was only a portion of the overall water the company would need to grow 10,000 metric tons of genetically modified salmon a year. AquaBounty had always intended to amend its application or file a new one to account for the full 5.25 MGD needed for the facility.
