ALCOHOL LISTED AS CAUSE OF SATURDAY NIGHT WILLIAMS COUNTY CRASH

One man was arrested Sat­ur­day after a crash near the Ohio-Indiana bor­der.

It hap­pened just before 10:30 Sat­ur­day night on Steuben County Road 1000 E at the inter­sec­tion of Williams County Road L.

Police say 30 year old Logan Nor­ton of Pleas­ant Lake, Ind., was trav­el­ing west on County Road L in Williams County when he ran a stop sign, went off the road, hit an embank­ment and a fence, and then ended up a field.

A pas­sen­ger, 34 year old Nathan Nor­ton, also of Pleas­ant Lake, broke a hip and received facial injuries in the crash.

Logan refused med­ical treat­ment at the scene and was taken to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office for fur­ther inves­ti­ga­tion and later charged with dri­ving while intox­i­cated.

Police say nei­ther per­son was wear­ing a seatbelt.
