County residents and the local Williams County Alliance are worried…over what appears to be a new project by Artesian of Pioneer…that will require an unknown amount of water from local aquifer sources. Reporters have gotten a hold of recent water well logs and drilling reports, from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. It shows 10 wells have been drilled in Madison Township, on behalf of Artesian of Pioneer. AOP and Ed Kidston were the center of controversy, beginning in summer 2018, when he came up with a plan…to drill into the local system of underground aquifers…and sell the water to cities outside of the county. At that time he estimated anywhere from 5-12 million gallons per day would be needed, depending on the number of customers.
