Appeals court denies prosecutor’s motion asking for reconsideration of a ruling in a Defiance County murder case

An appeals court has denied a prosecutor’s motion asking for reconsideration of a ruling in a Defiance County murder case. The Third District Court of Appeals in Lima recently denied Defiance County Prosecutor Morris Murray’s attempt to revisit the court’s ruling in the case of Judith Hawkey of Oakwood. Hawkey was convicted on multiple counts of aggravated murder, endangering children and insurance fraud by a Defiance County jury on Nov. 8, 2013 and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
