Area police apprehend man wanted on a Georgia warrant

Area police apprehended a man wanted on a Georgia warrant Tuesday in Henry County, following an encounter that began Monday in Williams County. West Unity Police Chief Keith Jones Jr. said that Monday at about 10:44 p.m., Blake Prather, 24, of West Unity, was on foot on North Main Street when contacted by a West Unity police officer. Through a routine records check it was discovered that Prather was wanted on a felony warrant for burglary out of Georgia. It was at that time that Prather fled the scene on foot. Pather was located on Tuesday in a Napoleon motel and taken into custody by the Napoleon Police Department. He is incarcerated in the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, rural Stryker. He was booked on the felony charge of fugitive from justice.
