Indiana man arraigned on a murder charge with a firearm specification in Paulding County Common Pleas Court

44 year old Daniel Zerbe of Indiana, was arraigned on a murder charge with a firearm specification in Paulding County Common Pleas Court. He entered a not guilty plea to the charge and waived his right to a speedy trial. Zerbe is accused of killing Wilma Schwartz on or about March 14, 2016. The body of Schwartz was found near Antwerp. Bond was continued at $1 million. Judge Tiffany Beckman noted that Zerbe has another active charge against him in Wells Co., Ind. William Kluge, Zerbe’s attorney and Prosecutor Joseph Burkard will be checking to see how that may affect the timeline for the case. A pretrial hearing in the case was set for 9 a.m. March 15. A trial date will be set at that hearing.
