Unemployment in the six-county area, according to figures just released by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Service, remained mostly unchanged from October to November.
All of the local counties had unemployment rates below both the national and state rates of 5.5 percent and 4.5 percent respectively. The highest unemployment rate in the region was Fulton County with 4.4 percent. Putnam County had the lowest rate at 3.5 percent.
Other counties showed up as follows…
Defiance County and Williams County, and Henry County all came in at 4.0 percent; Paulding County, 3.8 percent; Fulton County, 4.4 percent.
Putnam County by the way, was one of only six counties in the state with an unemployment rate at or below 3.5 percent.
