In Youngstown, a hospital has settled a lawsuit over alleged negligence that indicated the remains of an infant that died before birth were disposed of without the mother’s consent. Court records indicated the infant’s remains probably were discarded with medical waste rather than being saved for the burial the family planned.
Surveillance video of a Cincinnati officer fatally shooting a knife-wielding robbery suspect shows the man lunging at the officer in the driver’s seat of a police cruiser that had just arrived. Police released the soundless video Monday after a prosecutor concluded the Sunday morning shooting was justified. The officer wasn’t seriously hurt.
If you went to the this year’s Ohio State Fair, you went with an estimated 921,000 people, that puts the attendance total just hort of the record crowd from last summer. The general manager says rain and extreme heat on a few days probably affected attendance this summer. The 12-day event in Columbus drew about 61,000 more visitors in 2015, when the weather was clear and sunny.
