Defiance Elementary power outage blamed on construction

Power to Defi­ance Ele­men­tary School was cut yes­ter­day morn­ing, forc­ing the school to dis­miss stu­dents from kinder­garten through the fifth grade around 11 a.m. The out­age was caused by line that was knocked down at the site of the new school going up nearby.

14 lbs. of pot found during traffic stop

In DeKalb County, deputies stopped a car on I-69 at the Auburn exit and found over 14 pounds of pot. Two peo­ple were arrested, the dri­ver, 18-year-old Colt Mal­ott of Mar­ion, charged with deal­ing and other related charges. His pas­sen­ger, Kathryn Pogue of Broad­view Heights, was arrested for Dealing.
