Authorities in the area are warning locals to get ready for dangerously cold water on Lake Erie as Memorial Day weekend, one of the busiest boating weeks of the year, draws near.  The water is still extremely cold despite the warm air. At Maumee Bay State Park, Lt. Sarah Genzman of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources stressed that boaters must be conscious of the significant temperature differential between the air and the water.
