Ohio DOD to provide grant cash for eleven area cleanup initiatives.

The Ohio Department of Development will provide grant cash for eleven area cleanup initiatives, four of which are located in Defiance County.  The award of $61 million for cleanup and assessment work at “brownfield” sites-basically abandoned company facilities and others in disrepair-in 75 Ohio counties was recently announced by state officials.  The historic Glycerin Traders site on Greenler Street and Columbus Avenue in Defiance is one of the three in Defiance County.
