Ayersville School Board News

In Ayersville, a second person has resigned from the local school board in a two-week period.

Brad Morrison submitted his resignation on Monday, which is effective immediately. Morrison’s resignation comes after the resignation late last month, of superintendent Tod Hug. In his letter, Morrison cited the fact that due to what he referred to as moral, ethical, and leadership integrity concerns, he feels that he can no longer serve as a school board member.

However, the board decided that due to the fact that the resignation was not designated as an action item prior to the start of the meeting, the board couldn’t comment or act upon it. The board’s next regular meeting is 7 p.m. March 16 in the high school library. Morrison has served on the board a little over a year, since January.

Now, a special meeting is planned for 7:30 Friday morning, in the superintendent’s office to take action on Morrison’s resignation.
