Three bids were opened at the county commissioner meeting for the Crommer Park soil erosion improvements project in Pioneer…to line Clear Fork Creek that runs through the place with rip rap, or aggregate material, designed to reduce further erosion from taking place. A community development planner for the Maumee Valley Planning Organization opened the bids. He noted that the creek has eroded the banks and that can cause safety issues for anyone that uses the park. For instance, the trees near the banks of the creek can also cause a safety and health risk if they were to collapse and fall on someone. Bids were for depositing 1,800 tons of rip rap along the river banks. The bids are for material only, and work will be completed by Pioneer village employees.
