Big Aquifer Update

Big news on the Aquifer front. The Northwest Water & Sewer District, along with Sylvania officials, decide to make a long-term commitment to getting their drinking water from Toledo. Those two entities join Monroe County, Maumee, Whitehouse, and Fulton County in approving contracts with wholesale water rates with Toledo. Lucas County is onboard, too. Officials say it looks like Perrysburg will be signing on now, also. So, with that, in all, nine new customers are onboard with Toledo water. With this, Ed Kidston, Artesian of Pioneer president, has decided in light of those towns going that way for their water needs…he probably will not move forward with his plan to drill into the aquifer that supplies our region. Let’s be clear…he said probably.
