Bryan Municipal Utilities has updated its policies to lessen the financial burden some customers are facing amid coronavirus. Officials are extending the period of time delinquent customers can make payment arrangements before their service is disconnected, and expanding the eligibility requirements for BMU’s charitable Good Neighbor Utility Fund. Through that program, established in 2005, BMU customers in danger of service disconnection, due to emergency situations, can receive financial assistance through a BMU fund, which is comprised entirely of donations.
