Body Finally Identified

Defiance County deputies positively identify a body found in the Maumee River in May. Authorities say it’s Jabari Mbwelera of Fort Wayne. He was reported missing on Jan. 23. Mbwelera’s body was found near U.S. 127, in the Cecil Bridge area near Sherwood. They suspect the man may have entered the water between Indiana and the recovery site. The case has now been turned over to the Fort Wayne Police Department for follow-up.
