No injuries were reported but hundreds of residents in the western part of Williams County experienced a power outage beginning, earlier this week. Officials blame a lightning strike that downed one or more power poles near an electric substation at the railroad crossing on County Road 5, east of Edgerton. A passing train then apparently snagged the low lying power lines, disrupting service to hundreds of power users in Edgerton, Edon and Florence and St. Joseph townships, that’s according to Toledo Edison.
