Defiance’s Bronson pool is expected to be demolished this week. The Mayor Mike McCann said its necessary because the structure needed considerable repairs and it wasn’t cost effective to replace the pool. The city decided to take out the pool, the concrete deck, the baby pool and fencing, but leave the bath house and the pump building in case it can be used in the future. There’s been talk of a splash pad to be built there. McCann said city leaders are meeting with an engineering firm that designs splash pads then will meet later this week with a company that sells splash pad equipment.
