Brown introducing American Food for American Schools Act

Ohio Sen., Sherrod Brown believes American tax dollars should be spent on American products, and that should apply to more than manufacturing. That is why he is introducing the bipartisan American Food for American Schools Act, which would require schools to purchase American sourced food products for meals. The bill would require schools to buy American products for all in school meals, increase transparency and publish an online list of schools with waivers to bring in foreign food. Waivers would be issued if domestic products were cost-prohibitive or simply unavailable.
