BROWNS BAKERY IN DEFIANCE UP FOR SEALED BID SALE

Brown’s Bak­ery on Downs Street in Defi­ance is up for a sealed bid sale. Bids will be accepted until June 12th on the 46,639-square-foot build­ing, which housed the 140-year-old bak­ery. It still has its bak­ing lines in place as well as bak­ery machin­ery and equip­ment. It’s a ready to go bak­ery wait­ing for a new owner accord­ing to the real estate com­pany han­dling the sale.

The facil­ity closed its doors last Novem­ber when Host­ess ceased oper­a­tions nation­wide.

Brown’s Bak­ery first opened in Defi­ance in 1873. It’s been at the Downs Street loca­tion in 1938.
