Brushfire Burns North Of Defiance

Jew­ell Town­ship and South Rich­land fire­fight­ers were called to a woods and grass fire north of Defi­ance, at 8:44 a.m. Mon­day. The Cres­cent News reports that the fire spread from a burn bar­rel due to high winds at the res­i­dence of Harold Stef­fel. The National Weather Ser­vice reported that the wind speed at the time of the fire was 15 mph.
