A Michigan man who was driving an old pickup truck pulling a trailer allegedly full of stolen goods leads authorities on a chase. The low-speed pursuit began in Hillsdale and ended with an arrest by Williams County Sheriff’s deputies. Officials say Jon Helpon, a homeless man from Hillsdale, had burglarized home north of the state line The vehicle was first observed by authorities running a stop sign at County Road 15 and County Road N.30. For several minutes thereafter, Helpon’s pickup, pulling a trailer full of items believed to have been stolen, including tools, power washers, welders and gas cans, led two deputies on a slow-speed chase that never topped 50 mph. Helpon was arrested at gunpoint and taken into custody.
