Byrd Is Sentenced

A Defiance man get 7 to 10 years in prison in a Defiance County courtroom for an assault that caused the death of Nathaniel Byrd, last year. Prosecutors say…in a parking lot, outside Defiance’s Amvets Post 1991 building, on Spruce St., Byrd assaulted Johnny Jiminez, 67, of Defiance, striking him with his fist. Jiminez fell and struck his head. Jiminez was initially taken to Mercy Defiance Hospital with head trauma…he died six days later.
