Car Chase In LaGrange

A 33 year old man from Elkhart County is arrested after a car chase on the Indiana Toll Road in LaGrange County. The pursuit ended in Bristol. Troopers caught up to Christopher Stoops at the 118 mile marker for multiple traffic infractions. Stoops refused to stop. He continued westbound and was able to avoid stop sticks deployed near the 107 mile marker before getting off at the Middlebury exit and driving through a closed toll plaza gate. His tires were damaged and he finally stopped in Bristol. He was physically combative with officers but was quickly subdued and taken into custody. Stoops awaits a court date at the LaGrange County lockup.
