CAR HITS TROOPER

A two car crash resulted in injures to an Ohio State High­way Patrol trooper Sun­day after­noon.

The High­way Patrol reports that it hap­pened on State Route 576 at County Road R just after 3:00 PM yes­ter­day.

25 year old Nathan Rios of Angola was west­bound on County Road R when he went through a stop sign and slammed into a state patrol cruiser dri­ven by trooper Gale Horn of the Defi­ance Post.

Rios’ car then ran into a ditch and flipped over. Trooper Horn’s vehi­cle ended up in a ditch.

Rios and his pas­sen­ger 24 year Old Christo­pher Salaiz, also of Angola, along with Trooper Horn were all treated at the hos­pi­tal for minor injuries and released.

Rios was cited for oper­at­ing a vehi­cle impaired and fail­ing to stop at a stop sign.
