Defiance Roundabout Update

A grant application for a traffic roundabout on a south side Defiance street received city council’s approval. It allows city administrator, Jeff Leonard to ask the Ohio Public Works Commission for a $325,000 grant to help build it at Palmer Drive and Jefferson Avenue. The cost is $816,800.

A Ypsilanti man has pleads guilty to raping a girl in Bryan. Justinian Williams was arrested on a Bryan Municipal Court warrant in June. In May, the suspect made contact with a juvenile on social media and started a relationship. It escalated from there. Sentencing is set for Sept. 19.

Gilmore Indicted

A Toledo teen, who authorities say shot a Fulton County Sheriff’s deputy late last month, is indicted on nine charges, including attempted aggravated murder. Jeshua Gilmore, 18, was looked over by a County grand jury. The murder charge is a felony of the first degree.
