The cause of a fire that heavily damaged a Napoleon home Friday morning has been determined. The Ohio Fire Marshal’s Office was called to a fire at 514 High St. in an unoccupied residence that was under construction. The state investigator determined that the fire started due to spontaneous combustion. According to Napoleon Fire Chief Clayton O’Brien, the hardwood floors were being refinished and the oily rags were placed in a trash can in the kitchen where the fire began. No injuries were reported, and fire crews remained at the scene until about noon.
