Cavanaugh Case Update

A Bryan man is indicted on seven criminal charges, including two felony charges, after an alleged abduction incident on New Year’s Day. Michael Cavanaugh is accused of abduction, a third-degree felony, and felonious assault, a second-degree felony. Prosecutors say… he restrained the liberty of a person referred to as Jane Doe under circumstances that created a risk of physical harm to the victim. The felonious assault charge alleges he pointed an AK-47 rifle at Jane Doe in an attempt to cause physical harm. Cavanaugh also faces two charges of domestic violence, each a first-degree misdemeanor.
