CCNO Financial Overview Committee discusses transportation.

The Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio Financial Overview Committee is recommending using the facility’s commissary fund to help pay for a transportation purchase. By a 4-1 vote, with Lucas County Commissioner Pete Gerken dissenting, the committee approved sending the proposal from staff to use part of the $1.4 million dollar commissary fund…to buy a new van rather than using capital funds to the full CCNO board. Last month, the full CCNO board approved up to $70,000 dollars for the purchase of a transport van…once requests for proposals have been received. It was also agreed the board would discuss a possible second purchase at its next meeting.
