With spring and summer conditions arriving, City of Bryan officials are asking residents to keep their properties presentable and in line with local law. City Planning and Zoning Department Director Andrew Waterston said at Monday’s regular Bryan City Council meeting that the city has received some complaints about election or business signs being placed illegally. Waterston said signs should be placed in a resident’s private properties and not in the strip of grass between a sidewalk and roadway. Also, he added, residents should “keep them away from intersections.” Waterston also said his department is planning a “blitz” sometime in the next month or two in order to address and improve properties that are blighted or otherwise in violation of city code.
