An aggravated murder trial gets underway today in Paulding. It involves a cold case, going all the way back to 1981. 59 year old Steven Noffsinger of Defiance, is charged with the murder of his ex-wife, Alma Noffsinger back in 1981. If convicted, Noffsinger could get 20 years to life in prison. The Noffsinger case gathered national attention after it was featured on TNT’s “Cold Justice” in August 2014. Alma Noffsinger’s body was found in her Oakwood home on Dec. 17, 1981 by a neighbor. At the time of her death, the mother of three was going through a divorce with Noffsinger. The two were in a custody battle over their child.
