The first snowflakes of the year could show up today accord­ing to the National Weather Ser­vice.

Here is the fore­cast:

Today, rain show­ers before 2 p.m., then rain and snow show­ers. High near 44. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph. Chance of pre­cip­i­ta­tion is 80%. Lit­tle or no snow accu­mu­la­tion expected.

Tonight, the trick or treaters could see some snow show­ers, mainly before 8 p.m. Low around 30. New snow accu­mu­la­tion of less than a half inch possible.
